Mystic Tree (Custom Sizes)
Mystic Tree was captured at sunset in Zion National Park, this photograph reveals a hidden perspective that many visitors never notice. Using a 300mm telephoto lens and a tightly compressed composition, I zoomed deep into the canyon walls to isolate a lone tree hanging along the edge of a massive red rock cliff high above the drop below.
As the evening light began hitting the sandstone, the cliffs started glowing with rich orange and red tones that made the entire scene feel almost surreal. The warm sunset light brought out the texture and depth of the canyon walls while the isolated tree stood quietly against the enormous landscape surrounding it.
What drew me to this scene was the contrast between strength and fragility. The tree appears small against the towering cliffs, yet it continues to grow in one of the harshest and steepest environments imaginable.
There is something peaceful and mysterious about this image — almost as if the tree has been silently watching over Zion for generations.
